Cardiff (Caerdydd)

Recruitment is complete at this site

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may not have received the full two-dose schedule of Men B vaccine known as Bexsero (4CMenB). This is not part of the national vaccine schedule for your age group so you will not have missed out on any routine care.

Please see below for a summary of the schedule/vaccine doses according to when you were enrolled in the study.

If you enrolled in the study in 2018:

  • You will have received both doses of MenB vaccine.
  • At both of your vaccination visits you were given written information about the MenB vaccines you received. Please contact your local study site if you require clarification.

If you enrolled in the study in Spring 2019:

  • Your first dose of the MenB vaccine, known as Bexsero (4CMenB), was due at the time of your final swab, which would have been scheduled between March-May 2020. You may have received one dose but most of these visits were suspended due to school closures.
  • Unfortunately, you will no longer be able to receive the Men B vaccine, known as Bexsero (4CMenB), as part of this study; this is not part of the national vaccine schedule for your age group so you will not have missed out on any routine care.
  • If you wish to be vaccinated against MenB, please see the below links to find out more about purchasing the MenB vaccine privately. If you did receive one dose during the study, you’ll need to complete the second dose to have received the full MenB vaccine schedule.
